The first four "Golden Age of Radio" programs of January will feature a 15-minute 1930s "Popeye" radio program in the first half, while the second half will contain a new sci-fi series, "Captain Cosmos, the Last Starveyer," written and produced by Nicola Cuti, who plays the lead character. Nick was assistant editor to Popeye comic book artist George Wildman at Charlton Comics in the early-to-mid 1970s, and wrote some wonderful stories for George to illustrate.
Additionally, Nick created the memorable hero character E-Man, worked as editor, artist and writer for the comic book companies DC, Marvel and Warren, and is a two-time winner of the Ray Bradbury Award for writing excellence. In 1986, Nick began a new career in animation as a background designer for such studios as Disney, Universal, Warner Brothers, Marvel, Graz, Sunbow and Sony on such projects as Conan, Gargoyles, Jungle Cubs, The Mighty Ducks, Biker Mice From Mars, Dilbert, Exo-Squad, 101 Dalmatians and Starship Troopers. For the past ten years, Nick has been developing his live action series, "Captain Cosmos Cosmic Theater," a science fiction/science fact educational program for children for which he has won two Kids First! Awards for excellence in children's video.
